F-15Eの時はアクリル系を使ったが、塗料によってはエナメルウォッシングに耐えられない物がある。タミヤのXF-19などはその典型である。今回は極力ラッカー系で仕上げることにした。右は基本塗装に使った4色。他に337番もボディー塗装に使用した。

I used acrylic paint for the F-15E Eagle. However some colors are not durable enough for enamel wash. Tamiya acrylic XF-19 is especially not good for enamel wash. Therefore I used lacquer paint for the F-14D. I used these 4 lacquer colors and 337 for F-14D body color.
持つところの無いものは針金をさしてスプレイの準備。

Stick wire for a holder, it's easy to spray.
はじめにプライマ-を吹く。その後、パネルラインに沿ってそこに塗るべき色に黒を混ぜ、濃い目の色をスプレイする。

First of all, spray gray primer and then spray dark base color along the panel lines and dirty spots.
パネルラインや影になる部分をスプレイ。

Spray dark gray on the panel lines and shade part.
その後、パネルラインに塗った濃い色を塗りつぶさないように、また少し透けて見えるように基本色、Mr.カラー30８（FS36375）をスプレイしていく。下の右のセクションがスプレイ前の状態。

Spray Mr. Color 308(FS36375) between the shade. Don't paint over the shade color completely.

こんな感じで影を残すと良い。

Let color underneath show through. Like this.
上部のパネルラインをスプレイした状態。

All panel lines, shade area and dirty marks are sprayed in dark gray.
ヨーセンサーとウォッシャー噴出しノズルを工作した。

I made a yaw sensor and washer nozzles.
下部を塗り終えた結果、少しパネルラインが薄いと感じたので、マホガニーを混ぜて、さらに色をきつくした。

I felt the shading isn't intense enough, judging by the results of the bottom of the plane, so I sprayed darker color with mahogany again.
基本色Mr.カラー307と上部のMr.カラー337を塗った。写真ではよくわからないが、3色迷彩塗装となっている。

Spray other two colors Mr. Color 307 and 337. Although it's hard to see in this picture, this Tomcat was painted in three camouflage scheme.
マホガニーを入れてかなり強くしたパネルラインもかすかに見える程度。

You can see the pre-shade mahogany color through the Tomcat gray.
ここでスラッツ内部の赤を塗装、ここでもやはりパネルラインに沿って濃い灰色を吹き付ける。

Spray panels lines with dark gray before spraying red inside the slats.
パネルラインを残すように赤を吹く。

Pre-shade colors remain.
コックピット横の踊り場は、滑り止めのザラザラがある。これはタミヤの標準パテをシンナーで溶いたものを、筆につけ、たたくように塗り付けていく。もちろんマスキングは完璧にね。

The step area besides the cockpit has some anti-slip coating. I thinned Tamiya's putty with Gunze Mr. Color thinner. I painted it by tapping with a brush.
