息子と一緒にコンステレーションに乗船した時に撮った写真。甲板のザラザラ感がよくわかる。このタイダウンの下は海が見えていた。

Here is a photo of the USS Constellation taken by me when I boarded her with my son. You can see the sea through the Tie Down hole.
模様はパネル単位になっているので、パネル間をマスクする。

Mask the between of the deck pattern.
甲板の模様はドイツの戦車に施すジンメリットコーティングのテクニックを使うことにした。

I used the Zimmerit coating technique which is popular in AFV modeling.
ポリパテを少しMr.カラーシンナーで薄めて、塗りやすくし、へらでのせる。

Thinned Tamiya polyester putty with Gunze Mr. Color thinner, then paste it on the deck.
そしてタミヤのジンメリット用ブレードで線をつけていく。

Then slide the Tamiya Zimmerit tool. I used 0.5mm blade.
下が透けるくらいに伸ばす。

Spread the paste until it become transparent.
あまり機械的にきれいに引かないほうが実感がでる。

Don't make the lines as if drawn by machine.
パネル間は縦方向に模様をつける。パテをシンナーで薄めて塗りつけ、平筆で模様をつけていった。

The pattern between the panels is in a longitudinal direction. I put thinned Tamiya regular putty, and then mark patterns with the brush.
甲板の完成。

The completion of the deck surface pattern.
タイダウンの製作。まずはフライトパスのメタルパーツをはめ込んで、

Put the Flightpath's Tie Down anchor in the hole.
十字（？）エッチングパーツを瞬間接着剤で固定し、

Glue etched part on the metal part with instant glue.
ポリパテをMr.カラーシンナーでどろどろ状態に溶かしたものを、間に流し込んで、できあがり。

Pour pulpy thinned polyester putty into the gap around the hole.
