木製部分はアクリルのレッドブラウンを筆塗り。
ちなみに筆塗りに一番適しているペイントは乾燥の遅いエナメル系。しかし後でエナメルウエザリングを行うには都合が悪い。また乾燥が速いラッカー系は筆塗りは適していない。よって中間のアクリル系を使う。

I use acrylic Red Brown for wooden parts, hand-painting them.. By way of explanation, enamels are really the most suitable choice for hand-painting, because of their slow drying time. However, if we later use enamels to weather, this does not match well. On the other hand, lacquers, because of their fast drying time, are a very poor choice for hand-painting. So I stuck with acrylics, which are somewhere in between.
基本塗装後。

After application of the baseic coat.
木目をつけるにはドライブラシでバフを少量のせて、

I dry-brush some buff onto the wooden areas to simulate the grain,
半乾きの状態で綿棒でこするといい感じになる。

and then while the paint is half-dry I use cotton buds to wipe it, giving a nice effect.
金属部分はエナメルの銀をドライブラシする。

For the metal areas, I dry-brush enamel silver.
空気清浄機は濃いジャーマングレーを筆塗り。あとでパステルで整える。

I hand-paint the air purifiers in dark German Gray, later I will use pastels to complete their look.
ワイヤーにはメタルカラーを使用。

The wires are painted in metallic color.
筆塗りして、

After hand-painting,
乾燥後に綿棒でこするとご覧のような光沢がでる。

I use cotton buds to polish them, giving this lovely sheen.
車体の下部の埃表現を行う。ハンブロールの？？番を3倍程度に薄めて、

Here I am about to apply dust to the lower chassis. I dilute Humbrol No.?? about 3:1.
スカートの下半分から下にかけて、薄っすらとスプレイする。

I spray very lightly the area from below the skirts downward.
次はドライブラッシング。ドライブラシに少量のエナメルをつけ、紙にこすりつけ、毛に塗料がのっているかのっていないかの程度にする。色はダークイエローにホワイトを適量まぜたもの。つまりハイライト色。

Next comes the drybrushing. With only a little bit of enamel paint on the tip of a dry brush, wipe it on a piece of paper until there is barely any paint remaining on the brush tip. The color I use here is Dark Yellow with a fair amount of White mixed in. This becomes the highlighting color.
