サーフェサーを一気にスプレイ。

A coat of Surfacer is sprayed over all assemblies.
よくわからなかった表面の様子がよくわかるようになる。

Surface imperfections not visible before suddenly show themselves.
側面の表面のでこぼこがよく出ている。
The unevenness of the side surfaces is clearly apparent.
サーフェサーをして初めて、まだパーティション消しが不十分だった事がわかる。

It is only after the application of Surfacer that one notices that the seam removal leaves something to be desired.
こういう箇所はパテを盛り付け、やり直し。

Such areas are puttied and resmoothed.
鉄板カット表面部分が不自然なのがわかる。

One can see that the cut edges of the steel plates do not look realistic.
やり過ぎの部分は、サンドして均せばOK。

So with some sanding, the overdone edges are flattened slightly.
サーフェサー前にやるべき電線追加作業を忘れていた。

Oops! I forgot to attach the electrical leads before applying the Surfacer...!
エナメル線を使う。

I used enamelled wire for this.
瞬間接着剤で止めて、押さえ金具はマスキングテープで代用。

Instant glue is used to fix the wire, and attachment straps are made from masking tape.
こちらも忘れた工作。エバーグリーンのプラ材で予備キャタピラのホルダーを作る。ｘｘmm幅のプラ材をｘｘmmにカットして手でゆっくり曲げる。

Another missed piece of work! I need to make the holders for the spare tracks from Evergreen Styrene. I cut xx-mm strips from xx-mm wide tyrene, and then carefully bent the strips by hand.
ご覧の通り。簡単な工作で、ディテールが引き締まる。

As you can see, quite a simple piece of work, which enriches the details.
車体の下地処理が終了した。次はフィギュアの工作。まずはパーティングライン消し。カッターの歯を立てて、削り落とす。あまり平らにならないように気をつける。

The basic assembly of the vehicle has been completed. Next, we come to the figure. The first thing is to remove the seam line with a cutter, held blade vertically and scraped along the seam line. Take care not to hold the cutter blade too flat away from the vertical.
帽子は塗装のために穴をあけて、もち手用棒を突き刺す。

I drilled a hole into the cap and mounted it on a dowel for easier painting.
洋服の折り目や襟の下などを、筋彫り用ナイフで削りこみ、シャープさを出す。

The overlapping parts of the clothing, collar and so forth are undercut with a sculpting knife to enhance the details.

After spraying with Surfacer, cover with a cotton bud case to prevent dust from settling.
